Bio

Daniel Beder earned his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in music history/theory and applied mathematics and his teaching certification from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Mr. Beder began his career teaching middle school orchestra in Naperville, Illinois, and was cellist in the Jan Sobieski String Quartet. From 2009-2013 he was on the conducting staff of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra where he conducted the EYSO Sinfonia, an intermediate level symphony orchestra composed of middle and high school students from many western- and northwest-Chicago suburbs.
Mr. Beder is a 2013 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned both a Masters of Music in orchestral conducting and a Masters of Music Education. After four  years of teaching orchestra at Blue Ridge Middle School and Loudoun Valley High School in the D.C. suburbs, he returned to Illinois in the fall of 2017 and now is the orchestra director at St. Charles East High School. In 2019, he rejoined the Jan Sobieski String Quartet, the group for which he was founding cellist a decade earlier.
